The 2020 Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) report reveals that 61.4% of Utah adults have experienced at least one ACE, with 24.3% experiencing three or more. Emotional abuse was the most common ACE in Utah, affecting 36.9% of the population​.

The Essentials for Childhood brochure outlines strategies to prevent child maltreatment in Utah, emphasizing the importance of creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments. It highlights the financial and social impacts of maltreatment, including the high lifetime cost of each case and the increased risk of poor mental health and academic outcomes for affected children​.

The 2019 Utah Adolescent Health Report provides insights into the health and wellbeing of Utah adolescents, focusing on chronic conditions, mental health, substance abuse, and lifestyles. Key findings include that 30.7% of students reported feeling sad or hopeless, and 17.9% of students met recommended levels of physical activity​.
